Dear Heartlanders,
It has been a strange and wondrous year and a half as we have strived to be the church in the midst of a pandemic. Our return to in-person worship and activities has been a blessing as we continue to protect each other and the community around us. Your graceful, grateful, and giving hearts have not only sustained our community but expanded our ministry and mission through this time.
We give thanks that the disruption of Covid 19 did not prevent us from being the church. We had baptisms, weddings, and funerals. We worshiped online and in person. We proclaimed the grace of God in our music and worship. We found ways to connect in limited fellowship opportunities. We cared for each other in a difficult time. We welcomed new members. Your generosity not only sustained the budget but allowed us to expand our mission giving to a hurting world.
We are excited about possibilities for Heartland’s witness in 2022 as we continue to resume many of our normal activities. We have great hopes for the next year with new opportunities for mission and ministry. We plan to send many of our youth to a national gathering called Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Care for the earth and the environment will be expanded as the session is exploring the implementation of solar panels for the church. Heartland will be hosting a church and climate conference for churches in our Presbytery and in the area.
It is your talents; your time; your treasure that enables our witness. Linked below you will find a pledge and automatic debit form as well as a Time & Talent survey.
We ask that you fill out a pledge form and return it on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 21 during worship in the offering basket or by mail (14300 Hickman Road – Clive, IA 50325) or email by Sunday, November 28. We also ask that you take the time to fill out the Time and Talents Survey.
We are filled with thanksgiving for you graceful, grateful and giving hearts!
