FOR KIDS
Sunday School
Sundays from 9:00-10:00 AM
At Heartland, we offer Sunday School programs for children from Pre-K through 5th grade. Classes typically run from September through May (see our calendar for details). Students explore valuable life lessons based on the lectionary – scripture readings often heard at the 10 am Sunday Service. We build, read, discuss, create, sing, pray, and share gifts.
The Pre-K through 5th graders’ lessons are based most often on the Scripture of the Sunday (Lectionary-based) from Sparkhouse.
Pre-K – 2nd Grade: Apple Tree Pre-K Room
3rd – 5th Grade: Hallelujah Room
EPIC (Everything Possible In Christ) Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM
Students grades 1-12 gather for dinner at 5:30 pm and split up from 6 – 7 pm into their age group to explore and discuss relevant topics. Sometimes we unite together for a special service project or music; other times some age groups take a road trip for service, fun, or learning. Students often prepare for some aspect of involvement in Sunday Worship.
K – 2nd Grade: Favorite bible story lessons based on the Growing in Grace and Gratitude series
3rd – 5th Grade: Curiosty abounds at this age. Lessons and activities based on questions most often posed about faith – in the re:form series
6th – 12th Grade: Youth group balances faith learning/discussion, fun and service opportunities, for a safe community to grow in faith as students.
FOR ADULTS
Sundays from 9:00-10:00 AM
** Nursery care available from 9:00 – 11:00 AM **
A person is never too old for Sunday School! Adults of all ages are invited to join our MASTERS class on Sunday mornings. MASTERS is an acronym for Mature Adults Studying Timely Enthusiastic Religious Subjects. This class offers something for everyone as the topic of study and conversation is always changing. Topics may include current affairs, contemporary book studies and lectionary scripture exploration or ideas as big as practical Bible application and more! Class size is small enough that everyone who wants to share has the opportunity yet big enough that one can simply listen if that is preferred. The MASTERS class is taught by a loyal member of Heartland who has been living out his faith in this position for more than twenty years! Drop-ins are always welcome; this group gathers in the Jubilee Room.
